That place we call home

Ако мога да видя профила на Витоша, или билото на Поличите и Мальовица, това ми е достатъчно да смятам мястото, където се намирам, за "вкъщи".

Though, from all fictional characters, I love the most Hibiki's definition of this word.

vacation time log paste

201312052139
I need the insert song from Tasogare
definitely

Also, Teiichi is good for a protag, but still the worst character in this anime. Even the comedic relief is kind of better than him, though it's debatable.

Kirie the best, ofc.

As far as worth as an adaptation goes... it actually wasn't too bad. Wrapping up the story in 12 episodes does hit on the natural development and shows several asspulls, but it's okay done. I mean, plot-and-directoring-wise; animation-wise, VA-wise and music-wise it was fucking perfect.

201312052340
Shit, the gargoyle girl in CoC is cute incarne.

201312060214
Yohko 3 done, now 4?

201312061432
Ah, living as a girl would have been much easier... Why? I'd've just used cleaning as an excuse to cosplay as a maid, so it wouldn't've been so boring. This is big enough of a reason, right?

Cosplaying a butler doesn't help much, by the way.

201312091751
Yohko was too much of a Mary Sue. 6/10.

201312092007
You know, I don't really like Kimi to Boku. Difference with Hidamari, definitely, is how much I like the characters of the cast. I mean, the little blonde guy actually annoys me. Even Yoshinoya is more of a meh to me, along the lines of what I feel for the twins of Kimi to Boku.

201312092340
Ehh... wasn't bad, I guess. Kimi to Boku. 6/10 or 7/10.

201312100127
KlK aint too bad, actually. Pretty firing up episode was, the eighth.

Thursday, 5 December 2013

huh

I didn't even cry.

I got all teary at some point, but no.

I expected to cry, but it was not such an episode at all.

Also, these twins are damn hot. Now if only I remember where they were from... the stylists? Eh...

p.s. volume 7 ships on 17th, so I will get it around New Year, I guess?

Sunday, 1 December 2013

After the first watch

When they were talking about part-time jobs, nobody made the obvious guess that Hiro will be tutoring. I mean, what the hell?

Anyway, goddamn, this episode was perfect. All that use of palettes, of blur, of camera... all that movement...

sigh

time to go get 5th glass of wine and rewatch the episode.

Hidamari time

things I want to see built #9

Giant almost underground city in the Amazon, where sunlight comes in from hugeass holes in the terrain. That's like a given for any "after the end" type of fictional work... but nooo, nobody wants to build one yet.

best *monogatari ending

Koimonogatari episode 1

This thing is various... no... all different kinds of "Now I've lost it".
Saying that my sides are off using the gravity well of Jupiter to speed up on their way for Uranus' rings is just not cutting it. Them. From by being. Whatever.
It's one of those episodes that you can't help but hum along "I know I can kill"... at least when you have enough breath, because laughing too much is usually an impeding task when it comes to other chores like singing.
And you can't help but stop at 07:22 and start writing blog posts, just so that your tortured chest gets a little break. See, maniacal laughter is serious business. You can't just half-ass it. Or half-sides it. One sides to Pluto, one to Uranus is a no-no.

Also, Kaiki narrating is just priceless. In between all the other priceless stuff, this is priceless enough to be pricelessly mentioned.

Pictures cannot describe this

Nor could words, probably.

So, what was it... "смях през сълзи?"
Maybe there's a good English translation.

But see, I was already crying for a minute or two when the sight of Mayoi on Yotsugi's shoulders finished me off.

Thursday, 14 November 2013

Wa!

Yeah, one more great manga that for some reason I had not yet finished.
I ... uh.

I am not sure what to say here.

Just... something about Asagiri. Yeah. That should suffice. Okay. Uh. Asagiri something something. I am done? I am done.

10/10 would recommend to anyone would reread every other month or so would check out the other serializations of the same author.

Wednesday, 13 November 2013

That is to say...

...does this mean I am free to think of these two as a canon pairing?

Anyway. End was entirely unsatisfactory. I vote for Tadakuni. Everybody is still the same. We got nothing as hints for possible romantic pairings (besides the obvious and the above page) ((this is the only unsatisfactory part, if you didn't realize)). I still don't remember everybody, and I still laugh at every joke like an idiot. Really, what time does this make it? Probably seven rewatches + one reread of half of the manga...

Qwaser last episode

Well, that was one big "FUCK YOU GO READ THE MANGA".

Best episode in this season, full of everything I loved in the first one. I mean, besides the comedy. That unique brand of comedy was covered in episode 10. As for the first nine... they were pretty lackluster. I mean, yeah, taking a level in badass and all, but... it could have been handled better. Actually, if the second season was 26 episodes with 13 episodes on the war, I could have lived with it. But like that? Meh. I expected sex from the second season, and we got only teasers in that aspect. What was it, a wet dream or two. And we don't even know if Mafuyu feels like fucking Sasha. Guess that's part of the war arc too. I will have to read the manga now for realz.

Though I continue to think that costume redesign works awful on Sasha.

Log Horizon

I don't even know how to start. I've been in Log Horizon threads for the last 6 hours, and... yeah. This season seems like /a/ will be a nice place to stay in after all.

Let's try from the daily dose?

Yura is Character of the Year

There isn't much more that can be said. We expected focus on everyone, with some given to Yura - we got focus only on Yura, but she developed in such a great character, that it was worth it. We expected Karira and Sono to be great characters, but the traits to make them such went towards Yura. Which was worth it.

Yep. This anime was indeed worth it. Now to read the manga for more lesbianism.

Uchouten Kazoku: aftermath

Well

They didn't eat her.

What else did I note this episode? Benten got back to Master's side, I'd guess she was just being shy... lol, shy.  Pic related to the left, but I admire Yasaburou's inge... no, simply his sense of what is to be done; because it was not like he thought at all before doing this, it just seemed right to him, there was no need for him to search for this idea, it was his first instinct.
It was great how Master didn't address Yasaburou in the shrine visit scene: a silent approval of his growth, as if Yasaburou is already as good of a tanuki as they get. A sign of graduation as his disciple. Like Benten. Who honored us with some of the cutest expressions of hers in the whole anime.
And, goddamn, Kaisei. She was
so fucking cute
The most level-headed of them all, and the token one doing everything the right way. Maybe my favourite character... which says quite a fucking lot when you account for Benten and Yasaburou, whom I associate my own self with.

What can I even say more of the anime as a whole? It was perfect. Loved each of the characters, each of their relations and their talks. Even the secondary ones, and even the background ones. Loved their designs. Loved the art. Loved the direction. Loved the voice actors. Loved the music. Loved the atmosphere. Loved the city. Loved the end.

What I am left with? A fleeting sense of unrest whether Benten is closer in character to me or to the first girl I loved. A fleeting sense of unrest how I shouldn't actually believe I'd be acting exactly like Yasaburou in his situation. And a fleeting sense of unrest that we'll never see a second season.

Neptunia, aftermath.

The more of the "good" heroines were present, the shittier the anime was.

The reverse implication is also true:

If none of the "good" heroines were present, the anime was a flawless masterpiece.

Note: in a sense, the hackers are the ones who truly speak for the people. In that respect, nobody else was in his right to deal with Atari.
In the end, the battle before that was just dirty capitalism, and Arfoire was the only one dealing justice. The only one whose words were not empty cliches.

Sweet dreams, Arfoire.

That made me kind of happy

Fuck you.
I still recognize you from years ago.
chihirism made me laugh.
Both because my joke worked, and because somebody remembers me.

Season 3

Ok, that was awful. Practically the whole Goddesses Arc relies heavily on just one scene. The build up who is a goddess and who is not. Everything after it. Doubtless, this was the key scene of everything.

Yet, what? In the anime, it's done badly, with some normal music, skimmed over, with barely any feeling in Katsuragi, and, what's worse, it's slammed in the middle of the episode!

SKIP THAT FUCKING KANON ENDING NOBODY CARES ABOUT KANON YOU BASTARDS, AND GIVE US A GOOD END-OF-THE-EPISODE KEIMA REJECTING CHIHIRO!

Shit. Really, what the fuck was the big idea? That way the focus on this scene is completely lost! Leave the audience to writhe for a week, thinking over this, and greet us next week with the difficulty of Ayumi's reconquest. That's how it should be done. It's obvious that's the way it should happen. What level of executive meddling happened here to botch this in such a spectacular way? What the fuck is going on? Next skip Chihiro grabbing the spare pick, goddammit!

Chihiro

Symphogeah episode 9

edit: oh, and the torpedo. All in all, a stacked episode, full of important moments, many of which were of the "I called that!" variety. Although I expected Hibiki to be the one with a torpedo.

Now, that I've posted the highlights of the episode (in the last picture count all four times Sugita "did it" during this episode), lemme share something else.

UQ Holder thread #12544654

Seriously, /a/, get a grip, it's like Negima ending all over again!

...oh wait.

Neptunia

That thing where the villains are infinitely more likable than the protagonists; which is exactly the reason you are laughing so much.

But, really, Arfoire is love

Coppelion

may actually be really good if they use working models for radiation spread and so on. These ellipses in the manga look awful. What about the mountain ranges? Wind patterns? Come on, do your homework, and this shit will look beautiful. I've always been a sucker for post-apocalyptic city landscapes, anyway.

Autumn

** Tokyo Ravens

Sounds... well, pretty fucking stupid. But the staff? The name of Kanasaki Takaomi at least promises good comedy.

Walkure Romanze

Sounds like no. We'll see, if I hear something positive about it, I may actually give it a chance.

Galilei Donna

Practically everything that can be wrong with an original anime is wrong here. The title makes you think there will be lots of faux astronomy... the director hasn't done anything in ages... the chara design is kind of bad... sigh. Skip.

Magi, Freezing, IS

S2 of shit is still shit.

Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai!

The setting seems... eh, not too unoriginal, but? Still doesn't interest me. Also that ecchi there is going to ruin whatever good parts the anime has.

** Yuusha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shuushoku o Ketsui Shimashita

Pointlessly long title? Check. Nobody in the staff seems promising? Check. Setting that can be good, but only if actually used for the setting? Check. Everything sounds like it would devolve into a stupid harem? Check. We'll see.
edit: if they manage to relay this well, then I may actually watch it.

My Mental Multiple-Choice Power Is Completely Ruining My School Romantic Comedy

Oh god this is even worse, the setting that actually kind of interested me in Yuusha ni is missing here. Drop before I've even started it.

* Ginkitsune

May be good, may be bad, I will probably skip it either way.

*** Outbreak Company

Oh god this sounds awful *checks out what else the author has written* fuck this is from the guy with Scrapped Princess will watch 100% for the chance it evolves into an epic fantasy/scifi.

* Coppelion

Seems like srsbsns on first glance. I may check the manga, but I am generally not in the mood for such stuff.

BlazBlue, Hajime no Ippo, White Album, Aikatsu, Gundam

meh. haven't seen the prev stuff in this franchise. wont start from this season exactly.

Golden Time

Could be good *checks what else the author has written* no, I will never suffer through another Toradora, fuck this shit.

Bushi Road

Smells like not.

* Kyoukai no Kanata

Smells like not. Really, KyoAni, stop with this chara design, ok? Pretty please?

> Unbreakable Machine-Doll

What, first glance is not too promising, lessee who works on this... The director of Plastic Little... lessee the pv... OH GOD THAT MUSIC this is going to be great. Just my taste.

* Samurai Flamenco

Staff seems promising. The anime itself, not.

Nagi no Asukara

Feels like another Hanasaku Iroha. Skip.

Ace of Diamond, Kuroko no Basket, Yowamushi Pedal

Do I need to say anything? Not my cup of tea.

** Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Ars Nova

Wha... this shit is strange. Really fucking strange. Will check out, probably.

>> Log Horizon

From the author of MaoYuu the novels? Whoa, we may actually get something that can compare to the series about the Deep. Besides, I am just finishing up with .hack//, I'll be hungry for more virtual reality stuff.

> Non Non Biyori

Doesn't sound bad at all. Will check out. //edit: PV2 > bump up.

> Strike the Blood

Author did Dantalian no Shoka. Silver Link. Will watch.

* Pupa

Deen... eh... this preview... seems like it will be loldeep... but... hmm. May check out.

Meganebu

HAHHAHA

>>> Valvrave

~

Yozakura Quartet

I really need to get around to watching this. We'll see if I can get it out of my backlog till then.

Tesagure! Bukatsu-mono

mmmmnope.

** Miss Monochrome

This actually sounds pretty interesting.
edit: shit, turns out this is just an extended ad for some Miku. Too lazy to even bother reading more...

Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta

This sounds pretty bad. Staff sounds pretty bad too. Skip.

>>> Kyousogiga

~

>>> Kill la Kill

~

Diabolik Lovers

Seems like too much of a stupid shoujo reverse harem for me.

Under the line:
>>> x3
>> x1
> x3
(so 7 series that I know I will be watching)
*** x1
** x4
* x5
(so maximum of 16 series that I may watch)

Am I missing anything?

Friday, 16 August 2013

Hello, hello, it's a New World

The anime is good --or, at least, better.

But I already miss Mimiru.

edit: after the curtain fell: well, it wasn't... good.

Even so, it was better than //Sign.

But I still miss Mimiru.
