Any try for drama in this anime is either laughable or irritating.

Actually, you can pinpoint which is which easily: if they start moralfagging, it's irritating; if they try to show how all the suffering made Kotoura have a bad character, it's fucking hilarious.

But, well... the scene between the main guy and his stalker was disgusting. I mean, heck, that was all in all two lines of script? If this was a parody show, it would have been ok, but that didn't seem like a parody. After all, isn't the stalker part of the main cast? Besides, I hate just explaining every bad decision in a show with "it's a parody". If it's a parody, it's doing a poor job. They should have just kept showing how much exactly had Kotoura degraded over the years, but with bonus lampshading the fact that they are doing so. I would have enjoyed the hell out of such show.

Did anyone notice that he gets given a mushroom before everything starts going trippy? There's also a lot of mushroom imagery in the OP too.

Also to add to this, whenever I take mushrooms I always notice small things, like writing and stuff that seems connected and brings on a small sense of paranoia (Similar to when Sasami starts seeing the word 'Choco' everywhere). Then suddenly my trip explodes into bizzare dripping dali-esque visuals and general psychedelic experiences, very similar to how the chocolate floods everywhere and suddenly everyone starts acting bizzarely out of character.

Also the fact that when tripping, surfaces seem to seem almost like liquid as if they are dripping or made of a strange material...the overly saturated colors seem very reminiscent of a mushroom or LSD trip too. I know Japan is reasonably familiar with magic mushrooms as they've taken them for centuries and they weren't made illegal until 2002 or 2003.

Just observations. 

Mmmhm, I think that's kind of important to remember.

Whahuh, but, wha, no, it ended, wait, that was too beautiful, no, there is no way in real life a manga can end this beautiful, also, no, I, expected? to see Husky reacting to Medley's threads... that gave me hope, no, not hope... safety? that the manga is still not over and there is more to happen. That end was way too abrupt, now I feel that the roller coaster of... what, roller coaster? it was a straight up ride... of emotions was way too high, and there was no release... no release of all that potential energy, leaving it all built up in me, in my soul. Energy, that...
